Welcome To Our Stop on JD Lexx book Malediction Blog Review Tour! and A Giveaway!!!

¸.•*´MALEDICTION: Rise of the Crimson Confessions`*•.¸

Synopsis - Some devote a lifetime to the endless pursuit of love. Others spend even longer trying to outrun it. Between the shimmering lights of Paris and New Orleans’ commercialized sin, author J.D. Lexx embarks on his latest hunt. Once content to walk blindly in the light, these days he prowls a different world, one of shadow and sensuality where flesh yields to the probing hungers of fantasy. Driven by painful reminders of opportunity left unseized, he roams, tirelessly seeking the next in a growing collection of Crimson Confessions.

Yet these tales of conquest and seduction which have brought such notoriety are merely bait for a more transcendent prey. The one he truly stalks is infinitely more elusive, and lethal in her charms. To win her over, and write the happy ending to this unfinished story, an infamous collector of secrets must now lay his own bare for all to see. Chasing a trail of enticing exploits stretching from Sin City to Prague, every stop leads him back to the beginning…and one step closer to her.

 Excerpt -
Determined to retake control, I feathered a caress over the sloping muscle of her abdomen while fighting to my last breath the urge to explore her body further. As I took one step back to unsteady her balance, she instantly countered, throwing her palms against the wall behind her and launching the both of us backward. On the far side of the hall, we slammed with a crash so violent that it dislodged a pair of antique mirrors from their mounts.
Moments later, I finished the job. As I shook off the impact of not one, but two bodies, she dropped to the ground, ripping my belt away and heaving it down the staircase. For a passing second, I humored the desire to leave her there on her knees, at the mercy of the beast she seemed determined to unleash. Any longer, however, and she risked getting herself into real trouble. With a grunt of reluctance, I lifted her to her feet and spun her hard against the wall. This time, both mirrors collapsed under the force of the blow, unleashing a deafening roar to each side as bronze frames hit the floor and rained shards of glass over ancient oak.
Looking to one side and then the other while helplessly bound by my grasp, she shook her head and spoke softly, “Fourteen years of bad luck. I hope I’m worth it.”
“You better be.”
I pressed her firmly to the paneling with an added shove for emphasis, and then raked slowly up her sides. Keeping her shoulders glued to the wall, her lower body began to buck as the random whimper escaped her lips. Eventually, every inch struggled to break free and lurch forward for my lips but I allowed nothing on her terms.
With a punishing tug of her hair, I held her still and licked a trail up the warm pulse of her neck. Near enough to taste her lips, I leaned in to stake my claim with that first deep kiss, mangling her blouse in desperation I could no longer control. With a starved tug of fabric, the top two buttons flew free to bounce across the floor, just as the resurrected power grid kindled a soft amber glow.
While my eyes adjusted, I caught a first glimpse of the crucifix revealed by my assault. I can’t tell you how long it kept me at bay as the receding darkness left me once again accountable for my craving. For the first time that evening, I looked into her eyes, squarely and honestly, and reaped all the shame that she had sown. In the rekindled lamp light, I saw only a young girl, and the trust I had so long refused to break.
“I have to get back,” I said, dropping my guilt-laden gaze to the floor.
To this day, those words stand among the most difficult I’ve ever uttered. I knew perfectly well the repercussions they would echo, if not for how long they would do so. No longer had I sacrificed my opportunity for her unwitting benefit. I had now formally rejected it. Fourteen years of bad luck, indeed…
As I turned to leave her trembling in the hallway, I feared the curse may have already taken hold. The moment I stepped again into solitude, that fear gave way to certainty. With a broken breath, I stepped to the bedside to take an icy hand in my own, realizing immediately that I’d returned just minutes too late. I collapsed back into my seat and buried a roar of resignation deep between my palms, grudgingly accepting the unpalatable truth that I had failed not one, but two vows that evening.

My Review:
I started this book a few days ago and thought it was a great suspense packed sensual read written in, the male POV, wich is unique but not my favorite writing style in general, and I gave this a shot regardless of that aspect. I thought this will be a wonderful read for a mature Adult audience some of the dialogue is written in a well rounded educated format that was at times hard for me to follow, but I was able to finish this book and although I don't think it's for me I do think many others will love this authors unique writing style and a hot book written in male POV:) JD Lexx has a very unique way of telling his story as if your walking through the life of his character yourself, and takes the reader on a journey throughout this book. I gave this book 4 stars because although it was different then my average book I thought it posessed a lot of great qualities and so much uniqueness that made it a great read for others who enjoy a good suspenseful adult romance. I definitely would recommend that you take the time and check it out!

Review of Dawning By Brianna West ( Book 3 in The Promiscus Gaurdian Series)

Review of Upcoming Release
Dawning written by: Brianna West

I recieved an arc copy of this book, and want to note that there are two books before this one in the series that should be read before this title.
Dawning is an Adult Paranormal Romance and contains several hot sex scenes with our main character Izzy and her love Lucas.  Izzy has become part of the gaurdian team and she finds herself in several tough situations in this book as she had in previous books in the series.  The humor in the story keeps the feeling light while reading and helps the reader truly appreciate Izzys personality and I felt very connected to her character most of all due to this.  Lucas is an angel and Vampire who is strong and the leader of the gaurdian team.  Lucas is amazing, and the author writes his beautiful features in such detail I couldn't help but make him my favorite in these stories.  The love triangle that happens is because another member of the gaurdian team, whom Izzy has named blondie throughout the the first two books has fallen in love with Izzy and struggles with her not returning his love, and his name is Pavel.  Pavel plays a huge role in all 3 books more in Dawning as the heartbreak over Izzy choosing Lucas over him is evident throughout the story.  There are several other amazing characters that posess all kinds of skills and special powers and funny personalities that get introduced both in books two and in Dawning as well.  I feel that this book didn't dissapoint and i feel it is my favorite thus far in this series.  I give this book 5 stars and highly recommend that if you love Paranormal Romance you should definitely give this series a shot, starting with book one Awakening wich is only 99 cents on amazon at time of this posting.  Dawning is set to release April 29th 2016.  If you would like to connect with the author or pick up the books the links are here:

This Review is written by Sunni Hancock and was written with 100 percent honesty.

Review of Progress by Amalie Silver

Progress on Amazon

Progress Kindle Edition by Amalie Silver  (Author), Amy Jackson (Editor)

I admit, I didn’t think much of Charlie at first. She was rounder than the girls who usually caught my eye. Not my type. But when I saw her sitting in that booth alone, for the first time something in my mind or my instincts or my heart told me to join her.

She defied me.
She challenged me.
She gave me hope.
Before I knew it, moving forward was my only option.

I couldn’t tell you when it happened, but it had to have been a gradual change; I never moved too quickly.

If someone would have told me earlier that year what I was going to go through, I wouldn't have believed them.

Jesse was so different from anyone I’d met before. And everyone I’ve met since. He sucked all the life out of me, in the best—and worst—ways.

We don’t get strong overnight. For most of us it takes time. Strength isn’t measured by how high and fast our walls go up, but how easily we can watch them fall.

This book contains material that might be a trigger for some readers. Abuse and rape are implied, but not described in detail. Discretion is advised.

Unique, heart shattering, yet gripping opposites attract love story that is impossible to put down. Amalie Silver is a new to me author in 2016, and I will most definitely follow up with more books by this author. Loved this story! Highly recommended!

War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it with untrustworthy new allies and the empire as his enemy. Though he has convinced himself that he no longer loves Kestrel, Arin hasn’t forgotten her, or how she became exactly the kind of person he has always despised. She cared more for the empire than she did for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she did for him.

At least, that’s what he thinks.

In the frozen north, Kestrel is a prisoner in a brutal work camp. As she searches desperately for a way to escape, she wishes Arin could know what she sacrificed for him. She wishes she could make the empire pay for what they’ve done to her.

But no one gets what they want just by wishing.

As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover that the world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and they are caught in between. With so much to lose, can anybody really win?

Crow (Boston Underworld #1)

An Irish mobster. A missing friend. Two loyalties, ripping me apart.

I had a plan.

Get in, get my information, and get out. Easy, right?

Turns out, infiltrating the Irish mafia isn’t exactly what I thought it would be. I just wanted a soldier. Someone I could flirt with to get me in the door.

That’s when Lachlan Crow noticed me. Problem was, he wasn’t a soldier. No, he was next in line for the throne of the Irish underworld. And he was determined to hate me from the outset. My sob story about needing a job? Yeah, he wasn’t buying that either.

Too bad for him, I won’t let anyone get in the way of my mission.

Who cares if we have some kind of crazy chemistry? He’s the worst kind of wrong- and I would never in a million years be with a guy like him.

Because they took her from me, and I’m going to make them pay.

Theresa's Review:
This is a fantastic start to a new duo/series and can't wait to get my hands on the next book.
My thoughts... this darn magic carpet needs to spring to life and deliver the second book to my doorstep already... like now, haha!
Excited for book two, and don't have too much to add that hasn't been said already. But, what I didn't like? It did seem to be missing a tiny bit of explanation in some plot areas, and I would have preferred a bit more action considering... However, this was a fantastic set-up, so if the author brings her game in the next book like I think she will... this will be a book duo that you will not want to miss out on. It's going to be EPIC! That cliff ending was sooo good! I believe that most of us will get what we want from book two.
Loved this author's writing!
Also, I will agree with some reviewers by saying that fans of The winner's Curse trilogy will DEFINITELY enjoy this one. Sigh, is book two out yet!?!

Please Hurry! RECOMMENDED!
