REVIEW: ***Stage Left (Bright Lights Billionaire Book 1) by Ali Parker***

STAGE LEFT BY ALI PARKER
Series: Bright Lights Billionaire Book 1
Format: Ebook
Pages: 144

From Best Selling Author, Ali Parker comes a new Billionaire Series filled with sexiness, humor and intense attraction...

Ethan Lewis has been in the bright lights for as long as he can remember. He's just turned the cusp of celebrating his twenty-fourth birthday, and yet he feels more like eighty. Living the life of a celebrity isn't all it is chalked up to be, and dealing with the unruly number of women who are more interested in his billions than who he is as a person is getting old. He has resigned himself to giving up on love and focusing on the only thing that truly gives back - his career.

Riley Phillips has always dreamed of being on a big stage with the warmth of the spotlight baring down on her, but she just couldn't seem to catch the right agent's attention. After giving a quick commencement speech as Valedictorian of her graduating class at Billmore High, she's offered something she can't refuse... The chance to work in Hollywood. It's not all it's chalked up to be, but she works hard and finally gets her big break four years down the line. There is a new movie that her agent wants her to audition for, and her co-star? The dreamy Ethan Lewis.

She scores the part, but soon regrets it due to his callous, overbearing persona. He's nothing like the public touts, and she for one isn't impressed.

Funny enough, he is - immensely.

This is book 1 in a continued series.

18+ Explicit sexual content and possible foul language.

RATING: 5 STARS
THERESA'S REVIEW: Completely fell hard for Ethan and Riley's story! I simply could not put this down once I picked it up. I planned on reading a few chapters before bed, but I engulfed every single delicious chapter in one sitting. The push and pull between these characters is real, frustrating, but oh so good!
I loved going through the ups and downs with these characters. This book made me smile, laugh, cringe, and then finally want to break my reading device in two. However, in the end I'm glad I didn't because I'll need it for the second book. That ending though... Loved it! Not to mention that heated audition scene. Wow! I quickly recovered from the sadness that I hit the end of the book once my mind ran wild with the realization of where this series is headed. Stage Left is exciting and worth every page.
This is my first book by Ali Parker who kindly sent me an advance review copy in exchange for my honest review. My honest review says that Ali Parker now has me twisted around her little pinkie finger. Thanks for making me wait and suffer for book two Ali Parker! Lol! Not cool! But, I love you for writing this book! You can find me waiting in the audition lines for book two! This is my honest review of Stage Left by Ali Parker!

REVIEW: ***Keeley's Fight (Book 1 of The Protectors Series) by K.L Donn***

KEELEY'S FIGHT BY K.L. DONN:
Format: Ebook, 203 Pages.
Publication Date: August 5th, 2015
Heartache and betrayal are two things Keeley Stone is very familiar with. Born into a life she never wanted, betrayed by her own parents, she never saw a way out. Until one day, two men who know nothing of her or her life step up and protect her when she’s in need of a savior.

Loyalty and respect are not just something earned for brothers Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell, but a code they live by. A chance encounter with a gorgeous young woman has left them enthralled with her.

Can they convince her they’re worth fighting for? Or will she let demons of her past control her future?

Note: This is a stand alone HEA M/F/M contemporary romance novel. There is no touching for titillation between brothers.
This is a full length novel at 50000 words.

RATING: 4.25 STARS
REVIEW: I loved this author's debut! This story really drew me in from the first page. I meant to only read a few pages before bed, but found myself 55% finished before my eyes were sagging and I simply couldn't continue anymore. Keeley's introduction was so heartbreaking. The author did a wonderful job making the reader understand Keeley's Fight, so it was easy to connect with Keeley and her story. Her parents were abusive, but Keeley's circumstances changed once she met the two brother's whom vowed to protect her. They both become her lovers.
If you like steamy reads, this author nailed it.
My only complaint is that I would have liked for the author to go into a little more depth in some areas to make this book longer (that is me being greedy, hahaha). However, this is a fast moving book that covers a lot of ground during these pages. I was happy for Keeley in the end, but sad that her story was over. I would love to read more about Keeley's character. I thought that this trilogy was going to be all about Keeley, but it's not. I was a bit sad about that, but now it makes sense why the book progressed and ended the way it did. I won this entire trilogy in a giveaway on Facebook, but that fact has not influenced my review in any way. Keeley's Fight is a unique story that I highly recommend! I have book two locked and loaded and can't wait to start it.
This book is well-written and worth the time investment. Emotions run wild while reading this book! Probably not a book for sensitive readers in my opinion. However, if you are okay with sensitive topics that make some readers uncomfortable, I'd definitely recommend reading this one. This is a story about love, loss, and second chances. Most definitely a memorable debut from this author, so read it! This is my honest review of Keeley's Fight.

Sandy from Erotic Romance Book Blog with Sandy
“IT BROKE MY HEART REPEATEDLY! Why would that be a good thing you may ask... because her characters shows the strength and resilience..."

Kaci from She’s a Lip Bitter
KL has a way of painting a picture that you feel like you're actually there with the characters, and this book is no different. This book is so emotional, so raw and so well written.

REVIEW: The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey

THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS BY M.R. CAREY:

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her "our little genius."

Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant Parks keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh.

Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn't know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.

RATING: 4.5 stars
REVIEW: I mean... I devoured this book in only two sittings. Loved every mysterious and suspenseful moment of it. Definitely looking forward to the release of book 2 this year. One thing I appreciated about this book was that there was hardly any romance. Don't get me wrong because I love having some romance in my books, but sometimes it's nice not to have it dominate a story. There is a love interest between the pages, but it doesn't consume the wonderful story inside.
The narration reminds me of What Happened to my Sister by Elizabeth Flock. Completely different, but both are highly recommendable! I knew nothing about the book going in and it's probably best going in that way on this one. Great story- READ THIS!

REVIEW: Broken Skies by Theresa Kay

BROKEN SKIES BY THERESA KAY: (FORMAT: AUDIO)

Thirty years ago, civilization collapsed. Few survived.
Ten years ago, the aliens arrived…and stayed.
One year ago, I killed two men and went a little crazy.
Today, the aliens took my brother and I will do anything to get him back.

In seventeen-year-old Jax Mitchell's world, humans are nearly extinct and alien settlers have arrived.

Until recently, the E’rikon have remained segregated in their city and ignored the few humans who have tried to engage them… but now they have taken Jax’s brother. To rescue him, she forms an uneasy alliance with a teenage E’rikon left stranded in the woods. She agrees to guide him to the city if he sneaks her past the human-proof barrier. Too bad it’s not that simple.

Jax, who cannot stand to be touched, finds that she’s drawn to the alien boy with bright green hair and jewel-like scales on his back. And he’s equally affected by her, the courageous redhead with haunted eyes. But she doesn’t know the alien’s true motives and he has no idea that she is much more than she seems.

With the aliens and the humans at odds, the connection forming between the two teens has consequences. What started off as a rescue mission sets a chain of events in motion which threatens not only the remaining humans and the growing alien society, but Earth itself.

RATING: 4.5 stars
REVIEW: If you think this sounds interesting or you enjoyed JLA's alien series, then I highly recommend that you try this book out. It's great! (don't get me wrong, Broken Skies definitely has it's own character to set it apart)
If you listen to audio books, I'd definitely recommended this in that format as well. (I listened to this one). Liked it enough to purchase the second one in the series (disappointed to learn book 2 is not in audio format yet).
This book made me smile a lot. Yet, it packs some moments that will make you hold your breath in anticipation. :)
Kinda cheesy at times, but not in an irritating way. :)
NOT GONNA LIE TO KICK IT...
LOVED IT! FUN & RECOMMENDABLE!
I cannot forget these characters! <3
Looking for a fun quick read with a little romance? this is it! :)

REVIEW: Bait & Switch (Alphas Undone #1) by Kendall Ryan

Bait & Switch (Alphas Undone #1)

              by
One man. Two women. This is going to get messy.
Love is a trap, a trick only other people fall for. Former Navy SEAL Nolan has no such illusions. The only things real in his life are his beloved bulldog and the two women who regularly share his bed. One is light soft, innocent, and tender touches. The other is dark and gives him all of the wicked things he craves behind closed doors. It's not cheating when each is aware of the other. But when he begins to feel much more than he ever bargained for, the order of his carefully crafted world is shaken, and he stands to lose everything.
Nolan thinks we met by chance. We didn't. I sought him out, seduced him, and in return got the sanctuary I needed to survive. But now, impossibly, I've fallen in love with him. I don't care that he has another lover, because when he finds out who I am, it's going to ruin any chance I ever had with him anyway. She's the least of my worries.
BAIT & SWITCH is the first book in a new contemporary romance series called Alphas Undone, which will each feature a new couple."

MY RATING: 3 STARS
MY REVIEW:

This is my first book by this author and I'll definitely try another by her. The book was well written and interesting enough to keep plugging away. However, this book had some elements to it that could have made this easily a five star book for me, but those parts fell short for my personal taste. I would have loved to have more suspense in this book because it was a great story.

I did read the authors note at the end of the book that stated that she had intentionally wrote the book the way she did for specific reasons, so I can't be too critical about that. With that being said, I'd still recommend this book and certainly enjoyed it. I will try another book or two by this author before drawing any final conclusions.

If you're looking for a good quick steamy read, or if you're not big on suspense, then I'd go for it. I cannot conclude that this is a mind-blowing read, but it is a good book.
